For the last several years, 3 students have been chosen to represent NBCC Saint John at the BDC Vanier Case Competition in February in Montreal. During the weekend event, 30+ teams of marketing students from colleges representing almost every province and territory in Canada competed. The students have always represented NBCC professionally and successfully every year following a grueling 3-months preparation outside of class time.
Each year the real-world cases change and cover every topic from Magic Show companies and bike trucks to curling equipment manufacturers. The teams have three hours to analyze the case and present viable marketing solutions before a panel of expert judges. Not only is it intimidating, but truly takes most students outside of their comfort zones.
