Marketing Program Overview

In the marketing option, we train students to think like the consumer in order to get an effective message out. Students learn critical marketing skills that enable them to develop marketing strategies that produce effective marketing advertisements and develop a company's competitive advantage. 

The program uses real-world cases and applied learning experiences to provide

the student with experience and confidence. The program graduates students who are capable of solving problems, developing effective strategies, managing and executing projects, working in teams, and communicating in various mediums. 

Specific skills the students exhibit include: basic graphic design, website and using multi-media; development of marketing plans, advertising plans and social media strategies; writing for various forms of media including broadcast, interactive, out of home and print; market research, including writing surveys and analysing results; developing sales leads and making cold calls; and identifying market opportunities and developing appropriate plans to enter markets.

The first year of the Business Administration program is common among all students. It provides an introduction to marketing, accounting, organizational behaviour, personal computers and Microsoft Office programs, and presentation skills.
